Get the Point

We just heard from one Etay Zwick, who has a new magazine. Its first issue looks like it has some articles that may interest some of you. I know I’m intrigued. But don’t be deceived by his excitement; he is, as you’ll learn in a few sentences, an editor!

The Point magazine is a new, Chicago-based publication devoted to
rigorous intellectual writing on contemporary life.  The magazine is
motivated above all by the conviction that the best lives require
confrontation with the best ideas, and that the failure to understand
the texture of daily life has had, and will continue to have, a
deleterious effect on its quality.  You can visit the website at www.thepointmag.com
to visit more articles available (full disclosure: I’m one of the
Editors of The Point.  But there are some genuinely great articles
available).

Here are some articles that you might enjoy:
1) An article taking seriously, and examining, the philosophy and
appeal of self-help guru / mystic Eckhart Tolle. —- Here, Now:

2) An article on David Foster Wallace that challenges the common
interpretation of his work, offering a different perspective on his
literary, political, and ethical ambitions — Death is Not the End:
David Foster Wallace: His Legacy and His Critics

3) A critical review of the Creation Museum in Kentucky, examining the
peculiar reasoning and aims of this creationist institution —-
