Lenten Thrills: 1974

Did you know that during Holy Week in 1974, an Australian nun had a top ten hit in the United States with a recording of the Lord’s Prayer? I didn’t either! Happy Lent to

me!

I made my non-believer husband watch the video with me on YouTube. Our comments are included with screenshots below.

Me: Whoah! Check out the Dream Team!

Josh: Of what?

Me (bad Australian accent:) “These new uniforms are wicked, Sister Janet.”

Me: That’s the modern habit! She looks amazing!

Josh: No.

Me: Sister Janet’s rock band! Look how “Mercy” is taped on the drum!

Josh: Oh God.

Me: This is the beginning of punk rock!

Josh: (muttering)

Me: They are bringing it!

Me: Those uniforms are wicked!

Josh: No! Not the sensible shoe tapping!

Me: YES!!! I WANT THOSE SHOES!!!

Us: Trust-building exercises!

Josh: (groans)

Me: I have totally done that.

Josh: No! Not the modern Jesus!

Me: Y.E.S. I LOVE IT!!!

Josh: No! Not the superimposition. No. (garbled.)

Me: Let’s watch it again!
