Dear Parents,
As you all know, our middle school Divinity Club has worked really hard this year raising money to bring a musical show from Ireland to TVSS for our traditional Second-Semester Convocation. Unfortunately, the much-anticipated “All Priests Show” has been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances.” The Divinity Club could have ceded their spot to Chess or Vermiculture or String Theory but, having gained the coveted SSC spot in only their second year of existence, they are “going to take off their shoes and circumambulate the rocks of Lough Derg ourselves,” according to Patrick Banerjee, club president. “As a half-Catholic, I feel it’s important to speak up for my people,” he added.
Our Divinity Club members will be working with Mr. Hindler, our middle school drama teacher, on a production of The Trial of the Catonsville Nine over winter break. Feel free to stop by the school auditorium while you’re out over the break and drop off some healthy snacks for our “divine” thespians (no peanuts, dairy or wheat gluten please!) “It’s going to be tough, but we’ll be ready when the lights go up,” says Mr. Hindler. “Watch for Alison Wong and Kirsten McKenzie as the Berrigans. They are going to knock your socks off!”
Thanks to our valiant Divinity Club and Mr. Hindler for making this quick change happen. Can’t wait for the show!
Your Principal,
Mrs. McCready
